Roberts Running Club News- November 2017

I just wanted to post some updates before the holidays:

1) Running Club tee shirts will arrive before the winter break. I will send an email to let you know when we are handing them out (possibly the last day of Running Club before the break). We will have plenty of sizes for everyone, so there's no need to order a specific size for your kid.

2) We will also be handing out our 1st of 2 incentive prizes to the kids before the winter break. It's a surprise, but everyone will want one to show off their Roberts Running Club pride! All kids who have registered online (http://robertspto.org/running-club/) will receive one and I'll send out an email when we set the date (likely on the same day as the shirts).

3) It's running season in Houston, so there are lots of fun runs and 5Ks to sign up for if you and your child are ready. The next big one is the Turkey Trot 5K (on Thanksgiving morning near the Galleria- https://houstonturkeytrot.org/). Lots of Roberts families turn out for this one! Wear your old Roberts Running Club shirt if you've got one! If you can't make the Turkey Trot, here's a list of other races: http://www.houstonrunningcalendar.com/

4) Coach A has instituted a new incentive for Running Club members who are interested in running competitively. The girl and boy with the fastest (and verifiable) 5K times this year will win a Garmin watch. All you need to do is email me your child's name, time, and link to 5K race results and we will announce the winners in May!
